SOCIAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL INFORMATIONClearly identified operational challenges 7A DEDICATED MANAGEMENT STRUCTUREA Head of Diversity at Group levelIn 2005, a Head of Diversity was appointed within BNP Paribas’ GroupHuman Resources function, responsible for defining overall policyand coordinating non-discrimination action plans, promoting equalopportunity and increasing the number of women and foreign nationalsamong senior executives. The Head of Diversity’s duties also includeoverseeing the Group’s policy in favour of disabled employees anddisseminating the Group’s policies in this regard. A Diversity Committee,established in September <strong>2007</strong>, coordinates the initiatives of the corebusinesses and shares good practices.An anti-discriminatory promotion processSince 2005, the Group has requested that the HR function payparticular attention to non-discriminatory practices with regard topromotions. A manager must be able to guarantee that there has beenno discrimination of any kind (ageism, racism, sexism) at any stage ofthe nomination process.The proportion of female employees receiving promotion is one of theindicators that is regularly monitored (See NRE Appendices – SocialChapter, indicator 19).International teams< Contents >By employing local people, BNP Paribas directly contributes to thedevelopment of the countries in which it operates and therefore isnaturally integrated into the different cultures and communitiesconcerned.
