More information is available from press releases on the Group’s website atwww.invest.bnpparibas.com.2ACQUISITIONS AND P ARTNERSHIPS3SREI INFRASTRUCTURE FINANCE AND BNPPARIBAS LEASE GROUP FORM 50/50 JOINTVENTUREOn 30 May <strong>2007</strong>, SREI Infrastructure Finance Limited (“SREI”), a leadingIndian financial institution specialising in infrastructure financing since1989, and BNP Paribas Lease Group (“BPLG”), the leasing arm of BNPParibas, entered into an agreement to form a strategic partnershipregarding equipment finance in India.The partners will bring their respective expertise and know-how to theventure, which will combine the strength of the SREI brand and itslocal expertise with BPLG’s specialised equipment financing skills andglobal brand name. BPLG’s investment in the project is 7.75 billion rupees(EUR 142.7 million).Regulatory approval for the spin-off of SREI’s activities was obtained atthe end of January 2008. In accordance with the signed documentation,audit work on the accounts began at the beginning of February 2008.CETELEM (BNP PARIBAS GROUP) EXPANDSBRAZILIAN FOOTPRINT WITH BANCO BGNACQUISITIONCetelem, a BNP Paribas company and leader in the consumer creditmarket in continental Europe, has announced the acquisition of theentire share capital of Banco BGN on 19 July <strong>2007</strong>.Banco BGN, part of the industrial group Queiroz Galvao, is a leader inconsigned credit (repayments debited directly from salaries) in Brazil,with a portfolio worth BRL 1.5 billion (EUR 585 million), more than600,000 active customers and some 850 employees.The deal represents a major investment for BNP Paribas, which sees Brazilas a strategic growth driver. The Group has been present in the countryfor more than 50 years and operates in most businesses.Brazil now represents the fourth largest revenue stream for Cetelemafter France, Italy and Spain, and the acquisition should significantlystrengthen Cetelem’s operations in the country.Cetelem has been an active player in Brazil since 1999, pioneeringco-branded cards. It has established partnerships with more than70 distributors including Fnac, Armarinhos Fernando, Fast Shop, Colombo,Telhanorte, Submarino, Kalunga and Casa & Vídeo.
