new under arctic conditions. Now it is possible for you to comprehend
what they have experienced at temperatures of -20° to -30°
centigrade. Under theme „Be part of the team!“ 15 hot-air balloons
from all over Europe come together in Gällivare to glide in absolute
silence over the untouched, bizarre snowy landscape and experience
the feeling of adventure and absolute liberty.
Besides the ballooning adventure you can also experience (surcharge)
extraordinary arctic activities like Skidoo driving, a ride on a husky
sleigh, visit of a reindeer farm ... and much more. In any case you will
have a lot of fun „being part of the team“ !

GALLIVARE – SWEDISH LAPLAND!
Gällivare is situated at the northern end of the
Inlandsbanan railway line, just about 100 kilometers
north of the Arctic Circle. Gällivare is located in a major
iron ore mining region. Outside Gällivare lies the ski
resort Dundret, which is equipped with ski lifts and ten
groomed slopes. Further you will find lots of possibilities
for country skiing. The ski season stretches from the end
of October all the way into early May. Gällivare is twinned
with Barga in Tuscany, Italy and Levi in Finnish Lapland.
Throughout the whole year Gällivare offers a set of
eventful and recreative adventures. In spring and summer
the “World Heritage Laponia” invites to hiking and
mountain biking tours. Lots of lakes and rivers with
crystal-clear water virtually summons you for kayaking,
fishing or perhaps gold panning. Fall spoils you with it’s
complete color palette of shining yellow, red and orange
tones. An unforgettable sight.
20-21 November 2010 Gällivare is the home of the cross
country World Cup and it has won a new attraction with
the „Arctic Balloon Adventure“. The thrilling balloon
Competition takes place for the fifth time now. The first
time in Gällivare.

Our exclusive Int. Arctic Balloon Adventure offers you a
combination of a Sporting challenge under extreme
conditions, thrilling activities and legendary scenic
impressions. Together with other enthusiastic adventures
you can prove your skills at the daily competitions like
long-distance race, precision journey, fox-hunt etc.. Rise
into the clear arctic air and enjoy the everlasting view and
the absolute silence while floating over Gällivare and its
surroundings.
Additionally you have the chance to take part in a thrilling
activity programs. You can drive on skidoos through the
thickly snow-covered woods and over frozen lakes. Drive
husky- and reindeer- sledges. You learn how the local Sami
survive outside in this extreme cold and you can try out
building igloos or teepees, ice fishing and lightening a
crackling fire in the snow.
We selected comfortable bungalows in typically nordic
ambiance for your accommodation. Every team stays in a
bungalow of its own. Breakfast, dinner, a special farewell
dinner, gas and nitro are included in the standard
ballooner package.

FAREWELL EVENING
o Saying goodbye is always hard. To make it a little for you we organised on
the evening of Thursday the 17 th February a romantic farewell evening with
the typical Lappish atmosphere, traditional meals and entertainment. A 3 –
course dinner buffet is included in the package
GAS
o Gas and Nitro for the balloons during the whole adventure is included in the
package.
ARCTIC OUTFIT
o To keep you warm even under extreme winter conditions we have a
complete winter outfit available for you. This set contains a thermo overall,
a scarf, a balaclava, woollen socks, thermo shoes, as well as thermo
gloves. So you only need to pack clothes as if you go on ski holidays.
BALLONING PASSENGERS
o The balloon teams commit themselves to take along passengers as per
organisers decision. The following rules apply: per each flight the team
takes along one guest free of charge. For any further guest the balloon
team gets a contribution towards the expenses of Euro 50,-- per guest per
start. In this case the pilot is responsible for the right authorisation and
insurance concerning the taking along of passengers !
ORGANISATION
o Fees for the organisation of the adventure are included in the package
AND IF YOU NEED TRANSPORT IN OR TO GALLIVARE, WE HAVE THE
FOLLOWING SPECIAL ARRANGEMENTS:
o Car rental during the adventure.(Fuel not included)
1. Van for local balloon transport (sim. Mercedes Sprinter) Euro 80,-- /day
2. Minibus (9 seater) with towing hook Euro 95,--/day
3. Trailer for the balloon (on request) Euro 25,--/day
o We are happy to assist you with flights to Gallivare.
o Transport of the balloon from Maastricht (NL) or Düsseldorf (D) – please
ask for a special offer if you are interested
Closing date 30.11.10 Minimum participation 12 teams. Maximum participation 15

TERMS OF PAYMENT & CANCELLATION
Terms of payment: Advance payment 40 % of the participation
fee prompt after having received the confirmation, payment of
balance until 08.01.2010
Terms of cancellation: At all times you have the opportunity to
cancel the complete package or parts of it. Please do your
cancellation in writing! In case of cancellation we are entitled to
charge an overall cancellation fee depending on the date of your
cancellation. In this case we need not substantiate the exact costs.
Cancelation fee: from the date of registration - 10 %; from
15.12.2010 - 20 %; from 15.01.2011 - 80 %; from 01.02.2011 -
90 %; in each case of the total participation fee or of any cancelled
part of your participation.
