Maybe it is a good idea to have one or two dreamers inevery business—they may not produce as much as the others but oneday their intuition and vision could be important. Maybe it is useful tohave the odd eccentric around, someone who doesn’t quite fit in becausehis or her thinking is different from everyone else’s. Yet, when asituation changes in an unexpected way it could be just that same offbeatthinking that saves the day. Maybe not everything should be accountedfor in an organization. If it is going to be capable of adjustingto change then it must have room to maneuver.Human ingenuity and human creativity are limitless. We need ourorganizations, our governments, and our approaches to the future toreflect just a little of our inherent genius.
