Cancer Awareness in Hertfordshire, Luton and South BedfordshireThe more emotional barrier to seeking help, that of being worried about what thedoctor might find, shows no significant variance by gender, as men (21%) are equallylikely to raise this as an issue as women (22%). Contacting the doctorComparing reactions to all the suggested barriers to help-seeking by PCT shows afamiliar pattern of response. The East and North Hertfordshire PCT participants aremore likely to endorse eight of the ten suggested barriers to help-seeking at higherlevels when compared to all other PCT areas. The following table highlights (bold andunderlined) which figures per PCT are statistically significantly higher than theremaining figures (those underlined but not in bold).
