Page 64 Installation Cutting, connecting, fastening Installation Instructions The DIN EN 12056 standard is relevant for the assembly of cast-iron sewage systems within buildings in the first instance. It governs the leak tightness of the systems, the fastening and the requirements in the event that pressures are encountered. Standards DIN EN 1610, DIN EN 752 and DIN 4124 are valid for the area of underground installation and outside of buildings. It requires a visual inspection after completion of the installation work and a leak test before backfilling the pipe ditch. The requirements of these standards for building and land drainage are absolutely binding for the installation of RSP systems. Cutting the pipes In DIN EN 1610 under Point 8.5.5, it states the following: “The shortening of pipes should be carried out using suitable tools recommended by the manufacturer. The cuts must be made in such a way that the function of the connection that is being produced is safeguarded.” Pipe cutters or electric pipe saws such as “PIPECUT” from Rothenberger are available for this purpose. It is necessary to take good fixing into consideration, to guarantee a clean and square cut. Anglegrinders with cut-off wheels are not recommended. The cut surface must always be smooth and burr-free to ensure that no dirt accumulations can form between the connected parts. A protective coating must be applied to the cut edges before they are joined together. Joining pipes and fittings together DIN EN 12056-1, 5.4.2, Part 5 Section 6.2, and DIN EN 752-2 require the water-tightness of sewers and pipes as a prerequisite for the proper operation of drainage systems. DIN EN 12056 also requires impermeability to gases inside buildings so that no sewer gases can escape out of the pipe systems. Page 65 RSP General SML KML TML BML Couplings Installation
