February 5, 1957, biis were received from the following:Taylor Machinery Company, Memphis TennesseeI{oad Buijders Equipment Company, Hemphis, TennesseeDal~nple Equipment Company, Memphis, TennesseeAfter a discussion on the foregoing bids, motion was made, seconded and passed that the matterbe postponed to a later meeting, until the Board could see the machines that were bid on.Nr. ·G. H. Johnson brought to the attention of the Board the custom of having a firemens banquetonce a 'rear. Hotion was made by Alderman Elliott and seconded by Alderman Hickman, and passedt lat Hr. Johnson proceed "lith the arrangements and have banquet as in the past.Mr. G. W. Johnson presented the matter to the Board of having a fixed charge on temporarylight connections to replace the policy of requiring a deposit and after a discussion, motionwas duly made, seconded, and passed that a flat charge of $5.00 be made plus the current usedat the regular price, with no refunds and it is so ordered.The matter of the employment of ~ws. Annie E. Lane as an assistant in the Clerk and TaxCollector's Office was brought to the attention of the Board and motion was made by AldermanElliott and seconded by Alderman Crouch, and passed that the en~loyment of Mrs. Lane beapproved as of January 14, 1957, at ~<strong>17</strong>5.00 per month.The matter of the amount of salaries of W. I. ~lills and J. E. Gay came before the Board, andafter consideration, motion was made by Alderman Crouch and seconded by Alderman Lovelady,and passed that IvIr. ivlills salary be fixed at !lli225. 00 per month and l'-1r.
