This multi-site project will examine theprocesses that link early maltreatment to adult revictimization, inparticular focusing on mechanisms related to psychopathology, sexual risk taking and alcohol use. Drawing on recent theoreticaland empirical findings, DiLillo’s team proposes that difficultiesregulating emotions stemming from early abuse create underlyingrisk factors for the more immediate predictors of revictimization.Together, these findings will permit the testing of a comprehensivemodel of revictimization.AWARDS OF $3 MILLION OR MORE5
