She has illustrated overfifty books for children and exhibitions of her artwork are shownall over the world.TIPS FOR TEACHERS• Uan is adopted by a family in this story. Do you have any pets? What is it like to take careof an animal? Try drawing pictures of pets you’d like to own.• Uan and his family live on a remote island surrounded by countryside. Look at someof the pictures in the book and compare them to where you live. What is similar?What is different?• As Uan grows up, the seasons change. How are they consumed? How are theymarketed? Do they serve different purposes or make you feeldifferent emotions?• Try writing a story about a favourite song, and a song about a favourite book.
