The electric motor develops power in a minimum of space. It<br />
performs two functions: as a motor, it allows electric driving<br />
over short distances; as a generator, it feeds braking energy<br />
back into the battery.<br />

In the Electric Vehicles and<br />
Hybrid Systems business unit,<br />

both for hybrid applications<br />
and for purely electric driving.<br />
The SB LiMotive joint venture’s first major order was to supply lithium-ion battery cells for<br />
installation in BMW’s Megacity Vehicle. The company was established by <strong>Bosch</strong> and Samsung SDI<br />
in 2008, and currently employs some 500 associates.<br />
