MARINE CORPS UNIFORM REGULATIONS<br />

organizational identification will not be placed on nametags. Wearing<br />

nametags that do not conform with these provisions, except as noted above, is<br />

prohibited.<br />

3. Nametags may only be worn on service and blue dress <strong>uniform</strong>s when worn as<br />

the <strong>uniform</strong> of the day. A nametag will not be worn on the female white<br />

shirt. Nametags will not be worn on leave or liberty, but may be worn at<br />

off-base events when prescribed by the local commander.<br />

4. The nametag will be centered 1/8 inch above the right breast pocket on<br />

<strong>uniform</strong>s with such pockets and in the same general position on <strong>uniform</strong>s that<br />

do not have pockets. On the female service coat with slanted pockets, a<br />

horizontal line tangent to the highest point of the pocket will be considered<br />

the top of the pocket.<br />

3020. NECKTABS/NECKTIES<br />

1. Necktabs (Females)<br />

a. The green service necktab will be worn when the long sleeve khaki<br />

shirt is worn with the service "A"/"B" <strong>uniform</strong>s and when the short sleeve<br />

shirt is worn with the service "A" <strong>uniform</strong>. No necktab will be worn with<br />

service "C" <strong>uniform</strong> or when the service sweater is worn.<br />

b. Green necktabs will be worn with the maternity <strong>uniform</strong> according to<br />

paragraph 3016.<br />

c. The black necktab will be worn by enlisted Marines with the blue dress<br />

"A," "B," and "C" or blue-white dress "A"/"B" <strong>uniform</strong>s. No necktab will be<br />

worn with the blue dress "D" <strong>uniform</strong>.<br />

d. Officers will wear scarlet or black necktabs with the blue dress or<br />

blue-white dress <strong>uniform</strong>s as follows:<br />

(1) The scarlet necktab will be worn with the blue dress or blue-white<br />

dress "A"/"B" (coat and skirt).<br />

(2) The black necktab will be worn with the blue dress "C" <strong>uniform</strong>.<br />

No necktab will be worn with the blue dress "D" <strong>uniform</strong>.<br />

(3) When slacks are worn with the blue dress "A," "B," or "C" <strong>uniform</strong><br />

or the blue-white dress "A"/"B" <strong>uniform</strong>, the black necktab will be worn.<br />

e. The necktab's outer edges should be parallel to the outer edges of the<br />

collar. An equal amount of necktab should show on each side of the collar.<br />

2. Neckties (Male)<br />

a. Marines will wear a 3-1/8 inch khaki necktie of any approved cloth<br />

with the service "A"/"B" and blue dress "C" <strong>uniform</strong>s. It will not be worn<br />

with the crew-neck service sweater. Neckties may be tied with any type of<br />

standard necktie knot which presents a neat military appearance.
