centered between the ends of the service tape and with the top of the emblem<br />

1 inch below the bottom of the tape.<br />

5. When the maternity service <strong>uniform</strong> with skirt is worn, pumps, oxfords or<br />

flats with hose will be worn. Oxfords, with either dark hose or black socks<br />

at the individual's option, will be worn with service slacks. The maternity<br />

work <strong>uniform</strong> will be worn with green or black hot weather tropical or black<br />

leather combat boots and cushion sole socks.<br />

>CH 4 6. Unless otherwise prescribed, other <strong>uniform</strong> items (i.e., headgear,<br />

AWC, scarf, gloves, handbag) not specifically addressed will be worn with<br />

maternity <strong>uniform</strong>s when and as prescribed by current <strong>regulations</strong> for wear<br />

with service or utility <strong>uniform</strong>s, as applicable. The AWC may be worn<br />

unbuttoned or with its buttons temporarily repositioned to the coat edge<br />

during the latter stages of pregnancy. The service sweater and tanker jacket<br />

are not authorized with maternity <strong>uniform</strong>s. The black maternity sweater<br />

(cardigan style with epaulettes) is authorized for optional wear with the<br />

maternity service sweater. Rank insignia will be worn with the maternity<br />

sweater per the sweater (with epaulette) <strong>regulations</strong> detailed in chapter 4 of<br />

these <strong>regulations</strong>. The green necktab will be worn when the maternity sweater<br />

is worn. The sweater may be worn over the tunic and underneath the allweather<br />

coat, but must be buttoned at all times. The sweater is authorized<br />

for leave and liberty and for commuting to and from work.<br />

3018. MOURNING BAND<br />

1. The mourning band will be worn on the left sleeve of the outer garment,<br />

midway between the shoulder and elbow.<br />

2. Officers will only wear mourning bands approved for sale through the<br />

Marine Corps Exchange System. Enlisted Marines will wear mourning bands<br />

issued as organizational clothing by their unit. Mourning bands are not<br />

available through the DoD Supply System and must be purchased via open<br />

purchase. The officer’s mourning band may be used for this purpose.<br />

3. Marines will wear mourning bands when serving as honorary pallbearers at<br />

military funerals in an official capacity, and at such times as prescribed by<br />

competent authority. Mourning bands may be worn for family mourning.<br />

4. When directed by competent authority, Marines will wear mourning bands<br />

while stationed in or officially visiting a foreign nation that is undergoing<br />

a period of national mourning.<br />

3019. NAMETAGS<br />

1. No valid general requirement for nametags exists; however, the standard<br />

black Marine Corps nametag may be prescribed at the option of local<br />

commanders at schools, conferences, and related activities. Marines assigned<br />

to non-Marine Corps commands or schools may wear nonstandard nametags,<br />

without prior CMC approval, if they are similar in size and shape to standard<br />

Marine Corps nametags and are required by the local commander.<br />
