MARINE CORPS UNIFORM REGULATIONS<br />

3-5). The jacket is semi-formfitting, waist length, with rolled lapels,<br />
plain shoulder straps upon which embroidered insignia of grade will be worn,<br />
and embroidered sleeve ornamentation as prescribed in subparagraph 3015.1.<br />
Dress collar insignia will be worn in the eyelets provided.<br />
2. Staff Noncommissioned Officers<br />
a. Males. The jacket is a round shell design made of dark blue gabardine<br />
fabric. The jacket, with rolled collar, shoulder straps with red piping, and<br />
peaked cuffs, is worn open, held together with two small <strong>uniform</strong> buttons with<br />
1-inch link. Dress collar insignia will be worn in the eyelets provided.<br />
Distinctive 1890's style gold on scarlet insignia of grade will be worn on<br />
the jacket sleeves, which will be flat pressed.<br />
b. Females. The jacket is of black polyester-wool tropical fabric with<br />
black rayon lining. The collar is of scarlet wool tropical without<br />
ornamentation. The jacket is semi-formfitting, waist length, with rolled<br />
lapels, peaked cuffs, but without shoulder straps. Dress collar insignia<br />
will be worn in the eyelets provided. Standard gold on scarlet insignia of<br />
grade as prescribed for the blue dress <strong>uniform</strong> will be worn on the jacket<br />
sleeves.<br />
3017. MATERNITY UNIFORMS<br />
1. Maternity <strong>uniform</strong>s will be worn by pregnant Marines when the local<br />
commander determines that the standard <strong>uniform</strong>s can no longer be worn.<br />
Either the maternity service <strong>uniform</strong> or the maternity camouflage work<br />
<strong>uniform</strong>, as appropriate, will be worn as authorized herein.<br />
2. The maternity service <strong>uniform</strong> consists of green tunic top, skirt or<br />
slacks, and khaki long or short sleeve maternity shirt. Either the skirt or<br />
slacks may be worn with the tunic, at the individual's option according to<br />
paragraph 3026. Either the long or short sleeve shirt may be worn with or<br />
without the tunic at the individual's option except that the tunic must be<br />
worn when the service "A" <strong>uniform</strong> is prescribed. The green necktab will<br />
always be worn when the tunic and/or long sleeve shirt are worn. When the<br />
short sleeve shirt is worn without the tunic, it will be worn with open<br />
collar and no necktab. This <strong>uniform</strong> may be worn on leave/liberty under the<br />
same conditions as the standard service <strong>uniform</strong>.<br />
3. The maternity camouflage work <strong>uniform</strong> consists of a coat and slacks<br />
fabricated of 100 percent rip-stop fabric in the woodland camouflage pattern.<br />
This <strong>uniform</strong> is authorized for wear by pregnant Marines in the Fleet Marine<br />
Force and by those in non-FMF commands who are required to wear the utility<br />
<strong>uniform</strong> in the performance of their duties. The work <strong>uniform</strong> will be worn<br />
under the same general <strong>regulations</strong> as the standard utility <strong>uniform</strong> except<br />
that the web belt will not be worn.<br />
4. Name/service tapes will be worn on the maternity work <strong>uniform</strong> with the<br />
top of the tapes placed approximately on line with the second buttonhole from<br />
the top of the coat. Placement of the tapes may be adjusted to the<br />
individual as necessary to ensure proper appearance and comfort. Each tape<br />
will be the same length, not to exceed 6 inches. The emblem decal will be
