MARINE CORPS UNIFORM REGULATIONS 4008<br />
(1) Placement of badges on female <strong>uniform</strong>s<br />
(a) On women's service and dress coats, badges will be placed on<br />
the left front jacket panel, on a horizontal line midway between the second<br />
and third buttons with a tolerance of 1-1/2 inches. On evening dress<br />
jackets, badges will be centered on the left-front jacket panel so that the<br />
bottom of the badge is slightly higher than the highest button. The<br />
placement of the badge may be adjusted slightly to ensure the proper flat<br />
appearance. On women's khaki shirts, badges will be centered on the right<br />
side, on a horizontal line even with or up to 2 inches above the first<br />
visible button from the top.<br />
(b) Placement of the OSD ID Badge. On women's coats the badge<br />
will be worn on the left in the manner described in subparagraph<br />
4007.2b(1)(a), above; however while on duty with OSD, it will be worn<br />
according to OSD instructions.<br />
(c) The miniature OSD Id badge is a smaller version of the<br />
standard 2-inch diameter badge, which has been reduced in size to 1-1/2<br />
inches in diameter. Only the miniature badge may be worn on the evening<br />
dress, blue dress "C"/"D," and service "B"/"C" <strong>uniform</strong>s. Placement will be<br />
as follows:<br />
(1) On officers' and SNCOs evening dress jacket, the badge<br />
will be placed centered on the left-front panel with the bottom of badge<br />
about 2 inches higher than the top button. The placement of the badge may be<br />
adjusted slightly to ensure the proper flat appearance.<br />
(2) On khaki shirts, the badge will be worn on the right side,<br />
centered on a horizontal line even with or 2 inches above the first visible<br />
button from the top.<br />
>Ch 3 (2) Placement of the PSB/VPSB. On women's coats, the PSB/VPSB will<br />
be worn on the right in the manner prescribed in subparagraph 4007.2b(1).<br />
4008. SERVICE STRIPES. (See figs. 4-5, 4-6, and 4-7.)<br />
1. All enlisted personnel will wear one service stripe for any four-year<br />
period of honorable service, creditable for retirement (under 10 U.S.C.<br />
1332), in any, or a combination of the following services:<br />
a. U.S. Marine Corps<br />
b. U.S. Navy<br />
c. U.S. Army<br />
d. U.S. Air Force<br />
e. U.S. Coast Guard<br />
f. Any Reserve component of the Armed Forces or the National Guard (other<br />
than on the retired list).<br />
g. Commissioned Corps of the U.S. Public Health Service or Coast and<br />
Geodetic Survey (only under certain circumstances).<br />
