Nine months after theproject, total crashes decreased by21%. The busy street is a key east–west artery for Manhattan andserves Williamsburg Bridge traffic.Projects such as those profiledhere are identified and developedthrough continual analysis of safetyperformance on NYC <strong>streets</strong>,including screens for crash history,severity and causes.
