1. <strong>Policy</strong> Administration1.1 Status Replaces P60051 Version 1.11.2 Department Professional St<strong>and</strong>ards1.3 Last Review April 20081.4 Next Review Due June 20092. <strong>Policy</strong> Objective, Statement2.1 <strong>Policy</strong> Objective(1) This policy is intended to provide guidelines on what gifts <strong>and</strong> hospitality may be accepted byemployees <strong>and</strong> the principles, which should be applied in deciding whether it would be proper to acceptany gift <strong>and</strong> hospitality.(2) Provides a procedure for declaring any gift <strong>and</strong> hospitality, which may be received, <strong>and</strong> for accountingfor any gift to the Constabulary.2.2 <strong>Policy</strong> Statement(1) <strong>Policy</strong> provides guidelines to Staff/Officers on what they are allowed to do <strong>and</strong> not to do in the event ofbeing offered gifts <strong>and</strong>/or hospitality. They will also be clear about the nature of any disciplinary actionthat might be taken as a consequence of them receiving or offering business gifts that are not acceptedin the policy.(2) Protects both Staff/Officers <strong>and</strong> the Constabulary against relationships leading to fraud, bad practice<strong>and</strong> abuse.
