Nikoshvili et al . 17721. Selective Hydrogenation of Dehydrolinalool toLinalool Using Nanostructured Pd-PolymericComposite CatalystsAbstractLinda Z. Nikoshvili a , Ester M. We investigated bothheterogeneous and homogeneous polymer containing catalysts. In the case ofheterogeneous catalysts Pd nanoparticles formed in polyelectrolyte layers weredeposited on γ-Al 2 O 3 . HPS was also investigated as a heterogeneous catalyst on thebase of metal contained polymeric matrix. For all the catalysts, the optimal conditions(solvent, temperature, pH, catalyst and substrate amount, stirring) providing the highselectivity of hydrogenation up to 99.5% were found.IntroductionThe most important problem in industrial catalysis is the problem of achieving highselectivity, activity and technological performance of catalytic systems used in fineorganic synthesis as it is connected with economical indices, quality of the targetproducts and ecological situation. In this study we report on the reaction of selective hydrogenation of DHL (3,7-dimethyl-6-octaene-1-yne-3-ol, dehydrolinalool) to olefin alcohol LN (3,7-dimethyloctadiene-1,6-ol-3, linalool). Fig. 1 shows the way of the DHL hydrogenation. In this
