This was also the motive that led Jesus to go to Martha’shome, although a long way off, to bring her brother,Lazarus, back to life.We can scarcely measure how much this saint profitedby the frequent visits of Jesus. We could say that afterthe Most Blessed Virgin, Saint Martha is one of the peoplemost honored during the life of Jesus, because she often welcomedinto her home the same Son of God whom the MostBlessed Virgin bore in her womb and from her resourcesgave food to the One whom Mary nourished with her milk.You can enjoy an even greater honor than this saint,whenever you wish, by receiving Jesus Christ within you inHoly Communion. Purify your heart to prepare to receivehim often and to profit by so great a favor.Pause for a short moment of reflection:What struck you most in today’s readings.
