SAFEGUARDING NRECA INFORMATIONNRECA EMPLOYEE ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OFNRECA POLICIES RELATING TO NRECA INFORMATIONNRECA has established several policies that provide guidance for NRECA business operations,legal compliance, and fiduciary best practices. All employees are required to be familiar withpolicies and comply with all policies. Before engaging in NRECA work, newly hired employeesare required to read, acknowledge understanding, and acknowledge intent to comply with certainpolicies related to handling of NRECA information. Please read the corresponding policies thatNRECA has provided you and sign the bottom of this form to confirm.NRECA <strong>Policies</strong>A significant part of NRECA’s value to its members is the development of information,including, but not limited to surveys, reports, analyses, statistics, legal research, sampledocuments, employee benefits programs data, systems and data and other resources (“NRECAInformation”). Some NRECA Information may be provided as a member benefit and some maybe offered on a fee-for-service or subscription basis, such that only those who paid for theNRECA Information should receive it. Some NRECA Information may be Internal, Confidential,or Protected, subject to attorney-client privilege, subject to a “legal hold,” be a trade secret, orotherwise constitute such information for which disclosure is prohibited, restricted, regulated bylaw, or otherwise limited.Privacy and Confidentiality: I understand it is NRECA’s policy to be as transparent asreasonably possible and to ensure the timely dissemination of appropriate NRECA Information torecipients while at the same time safeguarding such information that cannot be disclosed ordisclosed only under certain conditions. I will comply with Policy 10.6 – Privacy andConfidentiality when safeguarding and handling NRECA information to ensure such informationis not made available to unauthorized users.External Communications: I understand it is NRECA’s policy that NRECA speaks with aconsistent voice, openly and honestly, about its operations, events, actions and policies. Iacknowledge that Media Relations is responsible for managing NRECA’s media activities,including development of media strategies, initiation of contact with the media, and response tomedia inquiries. I will comply with Policy 7.1 – External Communications relating to any formalexpressions of NRECA.Information Security: I understand it is NRECA’s policy to maintain prudent business practicesto safeguard computer data (also, NRECA Information) that is generated, transmitted, stored,accessed, or processed in any information system or, from and through any media. I will complywith Policy 10.1 – Information Security when using NRECA information systems and computingequipment to ensure that NRECA Information is protected from unauthorized disclosure.Electronic Communications: I understand it is NRECA’s policy that employees take allnecessary steps to ensure that any messages sent, received, or stored on NRECA electroniccommunication systems which constitute NRECA Information be safeguarded. I acknowledgethat NRECA can monitor any NRECA electronic communication systems and that THERE ISNO EXPECTATION OF PRIVACY WITH RESPECT TO ANY USE OF NRECA’SCOMPUTER SYSTEMS, WHICH INCLUDES NRECA’S ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATIONSYSTEMS, FOR PERSONAL USE, PERSONAL INFORMATION, OR PERSONALPage 1 of 2

I will comply with Policy 10.3 – Electronic Communications whenusing NRECA electronic communication systems.Internet Web Privacy: I understand it is NRECA’s policy to use fair information practiceswhich govern the collection, maintenance, use, and disclosure of personal information on theNRECA website. I acknowledge that, under Policy 10.5 – Internet Web Privacy, if I use theNRECA website (a) to send NRECA email, sign a guest book, register for a conference, ask forinformation, subscribe to a publication, or if I provide my personal information through theNRECA website in any other way, NRECA collects and may maintain the information that Iprovide; and, (b) my information may be shared among NRECA departments as necessary inorder to respond to my request and that once my information reaches the correct department, itwill be used in the same manner as comparable NRECA Information collected in other ways.Social Media: I understand it is NRECA’s policy that employees, when using social media, notexpress views which conflict with NRECA, NRECA affiliated entities, or NRECA members (a)in an official capacity; and, (b) in a personal capacity to the extent the activity relates to issues orpolicy concerns of NRECA, NRECA affiliated entities, or NRECA members. I will comply withPolicy 7.3 – Blog and Social Networking Participation when using social media in an officialNRECA capacity or in a personal capacity as it relates to NRECA.Record Retention and Destruction: I understand it is NRECA’s policy to adhere to prescribedrecord retention and destruction requirements. I will comply with Policy 1.4 – Record Retentionand Destruction and will retain certain records for specified time periods and properly discardNRECA Information after the mandated retention period.I understand and affirm that my violation of any of the above referenced policies may (a) subjectme to disciplinary action up to and including termination; and, (b) result in my being personallyresponsible for any financial liability that NRECA incurs as a result of my violation.
