Yes.Other additional studies or pertinent information that lend support to this MRL: The findings in thisstudy are supported by another 90-day study conducted by the same group (Glaser et al. 1985). In thisstudy, groups of 20 male Wistar rats were exposed to 0, 0.025, 0.05, 0.1, or 0.2 mg chromium(VI)/m 3 assodium dichromate for 22 hours/day, 7 days/week for 90 days. No deaths occurred at any of theexposures. All exposed animals showed normal histologic findings in lung, kidney, liver, stomach, andgonads. Lung and spleen weights were increased significantly at doses above 0.025 mgchromium(VI)/m 3 . Serum levels of triglycerides and phospholipid were increased in rats exposed to0.2 mg chromium(VI)/m 3 . Serum contents of total immunoglobulins were significantly increased in the0.05 and 0.1 mg chromium(VI)/m 3 groups. At 0.025 and 0.2 mg chromium(VI)/m 3 , serumimmunoglobulin contents were no different than controls. The SRBC antibody response was increased inall dosed groups over control values. Chromium treatment at 0.2 mg/m 3 also enhanced the mitogenicstimulationof splenic Concanavalin T-lymphocytes. At 0.025 mg chromium(VI)/m 3 , there weresignificant increases in polynuclear macrophages, the number of macrophages in telophase, and increasesin lymphocytes in bronchoalveolar lavage samples. At 0.05 and 0.2 mg chromium(VI)/m 3 , there weresignificant decreases in total numbers of macrophages. The percentages of polynuclear macrophages,lymphocytes, and granulocytes were increased at chromium exposures of 0.05 mg chromium(VI)/m 3 , butat 0.2 mg chromium(VI)/m 3 the percentage of granulocytes cells was lower than control values. At0.025 and 0.05 mg chromium(VI)/m 3 exposures, phagocytosis of latex particles by alveolar macrophageswas increased over controls.
