Everyone 14 years to 60 years of age isbound to abstain from meat on AshWednesday and all the Fridays of Lentand Good Friday.2. Everyone 18 years to 60 years of age isbound to fast on Ash Wednesday andGood Friday.3. On these two days of fast and abstinence,only one full meatless meal is allowed.Two other meatless meals, sufficient tomaintain strength, may be taken accordingto each one’s needs, but togetherthey should not equal another full meal.Eating between meals is not permittedon these two days, but liquids, includingmilk and fruit juices are allowed. Whenhealth or ability to work would be seriouslyaffected, the law does not oblige.4. To disregard completely the law of fast andabstinence is seriously sinful.5.
