Important Boys’ Soccer Tryout InformationTryouts will take place for all levels starting on August 14th at 8:00 AM at the Northfield Campus. Allplayers regardless of age, playing ability or previous team placement will start their tryout together.Please refer to the schedule on the following pages for the first two weeks of the season. Everyoneshould expect to tryout for the team based on their year in school. Any movement up or down duringtryouts will be at the discretion of the coaching staff and will be communicated to each player on anindividual basis.FreshmenFreshmen are trying out to be on either the Freshmen A or Freshmen B teams. We have limitedspace and depending on overall numbers we may or may not have to make cuts. Any movementfrom the Freshmen tryout to the Sophomore tryout will be based on a number of factors including butnot limited to: Character, Talent, Effort, Attitude and Size. These decisions will be made by with thecoaching staff.SophomoreAll sophomores are trying out for a spot on our sophomore team. Space is limited and players shouldexpect that cuts will be made to insure the best experience possible for the largest amount of kids.Any movement from the Sophomore tryout to the Varsity tryout will be based on a number of factorsincluding but not limited to: Character, Talent, Effort, Attitude and Size. These decisions will be madeby with the coaching staff.Junior/SeniorAll juniors and seniors are trying out for a spot on the JV or Varsity teams.Fitness TestAll players will be tested during the first tryout on a two mile run. In order to be a starter on the varsitysoccer team for the 2013 season you must complete the two mile run in under 12:45. Players tryingout for soccer must bring both soccer cleats and running shoes to the first day of tryouts.Details• All players must have a signed physical form on file in the athletic office in order to tryout.Please make sure you have turned this in BEFORE tryouts begin.• Please print an Emergency Form from the athletic website, fill it out and bring it to the first dayof tryouts. Please take note or the information on the back of the form about performanceenhancing drug testing and concussions.• Please do not wear any local club gear for tryouts.• Cleats, Soccer shorts, T-shirts and Shin guards are all required to play• Bring water
