1. Profile: Expertise: Tribological test lab and tribological data base<br />

A tribological lab is available with various test benches working with different model systems (pin-on-disc, sphereon-disc,<br />

sphere-on-prism, sphere-on-three plates, shaft-on-plate, shaft-on-bearing) and operation modes<br />

(rotating, oscillating, intermittent) in a temperature range from –40 to +250°C to simulate a real practical<br />

background.<br />

All tribological results achieved from test bench runs are stored in a data base system called TRIBODATA, which<br />

actually contains more than 6500 different data sets of material/material/with and without lubricant-combinations.<br />

The materials range comprise metals as well as plastics and composite materials.<br />

The expertise in-house in creating, evaluating and implementation of tribological results is more than 25 years<br />

old.<br />

We are offering this tribological background to partners, who intend to develop new types of coatings containing<br />

nanoparticles for anti-friction and anti-wear applications.<br />

2. Profile: Expertise: Tribological test lab and tribological data base<br />

We are interested to find partners for the investigation of advanced application methods for nano-scaled coatings<br />

with specially designed structures with multi-function properties in the field of automotive applications. Such a<br />

multi-function could be using the coating not only to reduce friction and wear but also corrosion and/or wetting<br />

characteristics of the surfaces.<br />
