Short description of company
Integrated Microsystems Austria (IMA) is the first Development and Prototyping Center for Microsystem
Technology in Austria. The major aim of IMA is to introduce Microsystem Technology to companies in Austria and
to enable the company partners to achieve sustained success in this field.
A nationwide baseline survey conducted by IMA showed a strong demand on information about the advantages
of micro technical concepts from small and medium enterprises. With this additional information companies could
be motivated to increase their market presence and strengthen their competitive position with microsystem
technological solutions. IMA has the ambition to establish access to microtechnology for regional and national
companies, to assist them as a long-term research & development partner and to enhance their competitiveness
in their particular markets. Therefore IMA is the preferred contact for companies for technical developments and
applications in the field of microsystems.
In addition to the intensive assistance of small, medium and large companies IMA pursues its own research and
development of microtechnical products and solutions.
IMA consists of acknowledged research teams of the Technical University of Vienna, the University of Applied
Sciences Wiener Neustadt and the Austrian Research Centers Seibersdorf (ARCS). Since May 2005 IMA has the
status of an industrial center of competence (Kind). Furthermore since January 2006 Integrated Microsystems
Austria is established as a Hi-Tech limited liability company.
