Short description of company
CSEM, Centre Suisse d’ Electronique et de Microtechnique (Swiss Centre for Electronics and Microtechnology),
founded in 1984 is a private research and development centre, which has specialised in microtechnology,
nanotechnology, microelectronics, system engineering and communications technologies. It offers its customers
and industry partners tailor-made innovative solutions based on its technological expertise from applied research.
Furthermore, in founding start-ups, it actively contributes to developing Switzerland as an industrial location. To
date, a total of 22 such new enterprises have been launched by CSEM.
1. Profile: Expertise: Nanostructuring technologies
DESCRIPTION:
Nanostructuring technologies based on self-assembly allow for versatile and low cost generation of nanoscale
patterns. They offer a wide choice of optical, chemical, and biological properties.
CSEM technology:
Molecular and nanoparticle-based self-asembly
Nanotexturing based on sol-gel chemistry
Surface structuring with plasma vapor deposition
Templated self-assembly for increased molecular ordering
Wafer-scale replication of nanostructured layers
INNOVATIVE ASPECTS: Tailor-made solutions
INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS (IPR): Some patents
MARKET APPLICATIONS:
(Non-)Wetting and self-cleaning surfaces for antifog coatings for glasses and windows, protective coatings in
tubings.
