12 – Command ReferenceHotresetSHotresetAuthoritySyntaxResets the I/O module <strong>for</strong> the purpose of activating the pending firmware withoutdisrupting traffic. This command terminates all management sessions, saves allconfiguration in<strong>for</strong>mation, and clears the event log. After the pending firmware isactivated, the configuration is recovered. This process may take a few minutes. Tosave the event log to a file be<strong>for</strong>e resetting, enter the Set Log Archive command.Admin sessionhotresetNotes • You can load and activate version 7.10.x firmware on an operating I/Omodule without disrupting data traffic or having to re-initialize attacheddevices under the following conditions:The current firmware version permits the installation andnon-disruptive activation of 7.10 firmware. Refer to the 7.10 FirmwareRelease Notes <strong>for</strong> previous compatible firmware versions.No changes are being made to switches in the fabric includinginstalling firmware, powering up, powering down, disconnecting orconnecting ISLs, and switch configuration changes.No port on the I/O module is in the diagnostic state.No changes are being made to attached devices including poweringup, powering down, disconnecting, connecting, and HBA configurationchanges.• Ports that are stable when the non-disruptive activation begins, then changestates, will be reset. When the non-disruptive activation is complete,QuickTools and Enterprise Fabric Suite 2007 sessions reconnectautomatically.
