10 – Call Home ConfigurationCall Home ConceptsSCall Home RequirementsIn addition to enabling the Call Home service, you must also do the following toensure that email messages can be sent:• Configure the Call Home service. The Call Home service configurationconsists of primary and secondary SMTP server specifications and contactin<strong>for</strong>mation. You must enable and specify an address and service port <strong>for</strong> atleast one SMTP server. Refer to Configuring the Call Home Service.• Configure the Call Home database The Call Home database consists of upto 25 Call Home profiles. Each profile defines the following: Event severity levels (Alarm, Critical, Warn) that will initiate an emailmessage Email message <strong>for</strong>mat and subject Email recipientsMultiple profiles make it possible to notify different audiences based on anycombination of event severity, message <strong>for</strong>mat (short or full), or messagelength. You configure profiles using the Profile command within a CallhomeEdit session. Refer to Managing the Call Home Database.• Ensure that each switch that is to support Call Home email notification hasits own Ethernet connection.Enter the Callhome Test command to test your Call Home service and databaseconfigurations.
