Fellowsenior and roommate Trinity Dawsonran for 132 yards.<strong>Toledo</strong>’s defense shut down UTEP’soffense at almost every turn. LinebackerMike Alston contributed twobig tackles for the Rockets to end thefirst half, when UTEP was threateningto cut into a 28-13 deficit. It was the lasttime the Miners appeared set to mounta rally.Gradkowski, who completed 18-of-32 passes for 298 yards, was chosenas the game’s MVP while Dawson (offense),Alston (defensive) and SteveOdom (special teams) also receivedgame honors.THE “LOST” BOWL GAMESSome UT historians argue thatthe Rockets have actually played in17 bowls.
