CYCLING - Track CyclingCycle StartCycleStart is a multi use system es pecially developed for track cycling. For all events with an electronic countdown(e.g. pursuit) it is used as start countdown. The display board counts down from 50 seconds to zero supported by acountdown horn. The CycleStart can be used as lap counter and backup timing system for all races. The CycleStart includes the complete connection boxes for the timing. This means that at all strategically importantplaces a distributor box is placed in order to connect timing devices, displays, etc. Since the cable lengths mayvary a lot depending on the track, the cables are not included in the system but ALGE can provide them in custommadelengths.ALGE-TIMING offers a CycleStart for mobile installation as well as for permanent installation.CycleStart M consisting of:2 x CycleStart display board CS-DB2 x tripod TRI128Terminal Timy2 XEPower Supply PS12A2 x pushbutton 023-02 for lap counterDistributor Central VELO-M-BDistributor RED VELO-M-ADistributor GREEN VELO-M-CDistributor Sprint VELO-M-DDistributor Start 200 m VELO-M-EDistributor Timing VELO-M-FCycleStart P consisting of:2 x CycleStart d isplay board CS-DB2 x tripod TRI128Terminal Timy2 XE2 x pushbutton 023-02 for lap counterDistributor Central with integrated chargerVELO-P-BDistributor RED VELO-P-ADistributor GREEN VELO-P-CDistributor Sprint VELO-P-DDistributor Start 200 m VELO-P-EDistributor Timing VELO-P-Fwww.alge-timing.com

PHOTOFINISHOPTIc2nThe ALGE OPTIc2n is the next generation of the successful photofinish system OPTIc. The camera uses the latest CCD linescanning sensor technology. This allows using the camera even at bad light conditions. High recording speed with up to 3000lines per second and high resolution of up to 1360 pixel. The OPTIc2n is a computerized color photofinish system with integrated evaluation software. The color line scanning camerascans every movement at the finish line in true color (24 bit, 16.8 million colors) and stores the data on the hard disk of the computer. The stored picture can be displayed on the monitor or can be printed at any time. The main features of the ALGE OPTIc2n are:Best picture quality in all light conditions by modern line scanning sensor.Highest timing precision by Temperature Compensated Quartz Oscillator TCXO.Easy handling with Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7.Unlimited recording time with suitable PC hardware.High resolution, 3000 lines per second and 1360 pixel.Recording speed is adjustable between 100 and 3000 lines per second.Vertical resolution is adjustable: 680, 768, 1024 or 1360 pixelEvaluation is possible even before all competitors reach the finish line. You can evaluate a finished race while another race has been started. It is possible to start a new race before the finished race is evaluated. The time of each evaluated competitor is recorded automatically into a flexible result list.Camera OPTIc2n for IEEE1394 connection (up to 10 m cable) or optical cable connection (long distance). The OPTIc2n allows connection with CAT5e cable (RJ45 plug). With a CAT7 cable you can bridge about 80 m. It needs atthe PC side an adapter RJ45-1394 or the ALGE Distribution Box OCD2.Possibility to use a desktop PC or notebook with IEEE 1394 (firewire) interface.C-Mount lens adapter as standard (on request Nikon lens adapter possible)C-Mount zoom lenses and motorzoom lenses are available.www.alge-timing.com

TIMING DEVICESTimy2ALGE Timy2 is of a compact design, equipped with high-quality technologyand unique for timing. The exterior of the Timy2 can hardly be distinguished from that ofthe previous model Timy. However, the interior has been completelyremodelled and updated to the latest technology: same housing, same keypad, improved display with backlight. The processor performancehas been doubled and the memory has twice the capacity. The major advantage of the Timy2 is, for certain, the low power consumptionthat triples the operating time with batteries, compared tothe Timy. Thus working with a battery pack at 20°C and three printedlines per minute is possible for up to 47 hours. Low power consumptionin spite of doubled processor performance in connection with ahigh-capacity NiMH battery pack is responsible for this progress. The new battery pack also offers advantages when operating attemperatures below freezing. Even at –20°C and three printed linesper minute the battery remains its high efficiency for up to 31 hours. It is needless to say that we kept the ergonomic and most reliabledesign. Despite the handy dimensions the Timy2 has a large andeasy to operate silicone keypad. In all weather conditions, evenwearing gloves, using the keypad does not cause any problemswhatsoever. The Timy2 PXE has an integrated printer that recordsthe complete competition. As a matter of course the Timy2 features the necessary interfacesfor communicating with external devices. Integrated in the device isan interface for a scoreboard, an RS232 for data exchange with acomputer, an RS485 for a network of timing devices as well as afuture proof USB interface. The memory of the Timy2 is generously dimensioned. It is capableof saving up to 30,000 times. All times recorded in the memory canat any time be displayed or send via RS232 or USB interface to acomputer.Display:The Timy2 has a monochrome LCD graphic display with 128 x 64 pixel andbacklight. With this, displaying up to 8 lines of text is possible. Differentcharacter sizes and also graphic symbols for easier operation can be displayed. The display has an extended temperature range for use in extremeweather conditions (e. g. winter sports).Keypad:In spite of the handy measurements, the Timy2 has a large and well operablesilicon keypad with 26 buttons. Even with gloves the Timy2 can easilybe operated.Accuracy:The Timy2 works on a time of day basis and records it with an accuracy ofth1/10,000 second. That means that calculated net times of a precision ofth1/1000 are exactly calculated. Highest accuracy at any temperature isguaranteed by a temperature compensated quartz.Printer:The Timy2 PXE has an integrated thermal printer. IMPULSE DEVICESPhotocells and AccessoryTriple Photocell RLS3:The triple photocell consists of three photocells that are integrated in one casing ontop of each other.Operating distance 2 to 15 mExternal power supply possibleIncluding transmitting-receiving unit, reflector, two tripods and 30 m cable.Reversible between the following modes of operation:Photocell Area: Used for athletics. Only if all three photocells are triggered at thesame time an impulse is produced. This prevents that the photocell is triggered byarms or legs (only triggered by body). Therefore, quite an accurate „inofficial“ winnertime is obtained. This photocell is very important when a display board is used.Single Photocell Use: All three photocells work independently, this means the firstthat is triggered produces a timing impulse (e. g. for Dog Agility)Photocell PWR:The photocell PWR has been developed for training courses and works without reflector. The triggering is effected by reflection of the infrared light of the object thattriggers the photocell.Maximum triggering distance 2.5 mThe triggering distance is adjustableVery small dimensionsIncludes photocell, swivel head and 10 m cablePhotocell Adapter LA5:Ideal for photocells that are connected at a large distance from the timing device(e.g. interim time).Internal batteries for power supply of the photocellIntegrated speech amplifier for communication with timekeeperDiverse operating modes, e.g. to activate the photocell by manual switch if manynon-participants pass the photocellMounting Bracket BBG:for fastening the photocells at polesMounting Bracket B-S1small bracket to screw the photocell or reflector to a wall or on a stakewww.alge-timing.com

DISPLAY BOARDD-LINEThe multifunctional LED Display BoardThe ALGE D-LINE series is a very versatile numeric display board. It is possible to control it directly fromALGE timing devices as well as from other devices by RS 232 interface.Additionally, it is possible to show the time of day or use it as simple stand alone stopwatch or countdowndevice. If a DCF or GPS radio receiver and a temperature sensor is purchased with the LED displayboard, the run-time is shown during a sports event and at all other times the board shows alternativelytime and/or temperature.ALGE offers models for indoor and outdoor. The difference lies mainly in the type of LED used. For outdoorpurposes the LED must be a lot brighter especially if the sun shines directly on the board. The following figure heights are in the ALGE program:Indoor:57, 100 mmOutdoor: 80, 150, 250, 450, 600, 800, 1000 and 1500 mmThe standard model has six digits. Of course, we also offer other configurations. The advantage of LED display boards compared to other display boards is the affordable price and lowweight. Moreover, it is possible to use the board also in dark areas (e. g. under dark roof of a stadium). The power for the board is supplied either by mains (100-240 VAC) or an external 12 V car battery.Excellent visual display board for data like:TimesID-numberRankSpeedWidthHeightMarksPointsWeightPriceTemperatureDeparture TimeStock Pricesetc.www.alge-timing.com

DISPLAY BOARDLED Matrix D-RTNMThe D-RTNM is a universal single colour LED matrix board. It is usable as timing display board, message board or for advertisementpurposes. The display can show online preloaded messages or those from the internal memory. Also small animatedfilms can be shown on the board. The lightweight rugged aluminium case allows an easy transport of the board. The outdoor version is excellently readable even at direct sunshine. If used at night or at rainy days, it is possible to selectbetween 100 different brightness levels to reach the best performance of the display at any light condition.Driving is non-multiplexed, that means that these displays last longer and glow brighter than standard multiplexed displays.Further this function is very important e. g. if used during TV broadcast, because the display board does not flicker on the TVscreen.Matrix display board with red LEDModels with 1, 3 or 4 LED per pixelModels for outdoor or indoor useStandard models with 16 or 24 pixel height and 96 or 160 pixel lengthUniversal use by ethernet, RS485 and RS 232 interfaceInternal memory of 4 MB to store pictures, logos, animation or competitor lists. DISPLAY BOARDVideowall - LED MatrixLED Matrix Boards are very complex. A lot of specifications influence the price. We would like to give you a short introductionon different terms that are used for LED Matrix Boards:Pixel: One pixel is the smallest point you can show with aMatrix Scoreboard. Any pixel can consist of severalLEDs.Pitch: Describes the distance from pixel to pixel. In general, the pitch starts with 4 mm and goes up to 50 mm.The smaller the pitch, the better the resolution andthe more expensive the board per m².Pixel Size: The bigger the pixel dimension compared to thepitch, the sharper the picture (fill grade).LED/Pixel: Any pixel can consist of one or more LEDs. Themore LEDs per pixel the better the scoreboard. Butthe quality also depends on the type of the LEDs. Inour full color LED screens we only use Nichia LEDsthat have the best performance.Resolution: The resolution is the amount of pixels in verticaland horizontal order. The higher the resolution, thebetter is the quality of the picture or text!Pixelsharing or virtual pixels: The pixelsharing mode isusing LEDs from adjoining pixels to construct virtualpixels. The virtual resolution is four times higherthan the physical number of pixels. But the picturequality of a physical videowall with 16 mm is a lot betterthan the one of a 16 mm shared mode!Luminosity: The luminosity is measured in cd/m² or in Nit(Candela per square meter) and is important for thebrightness of the board. This technical characteristicis also stated in different ways. Some producerswill quote the luminosity for all colors in maximumbrightness. Any serious producer will specifythe brightness in the white-balanced state. Differentcolored scoreboards need different luminosity foroutdoors.1 color 2000 cd/m²2(3) colors 3500 cd/m²full color 5000cd/m² in white-balanced state!!For full color scoreboards it is very important to indicatethe luminosity in white-balanced status. Somemanufacturers will state the brightness in all colorswith 100%. This can result in a brightness of 8,000cd/m² but after the board is calibrated (whitebalanced)it means actually 5,000 cd/m²!Viewing Angle: This is a dimension that is not 100% thesame for different manufacturers. Some producersdefine the maximum angle as before the scoreboardgets dark. This is a poor definition! All serious manufacturers will define the half-centerbrightness, which means in simple words the anglewhere you still have 50% of the full luminosity!Refresh rate: The higher the refresh rate the more softfocussedis the picture. We have a standard refresh rate of 240 and for theprofessional series we have a refresh rate of 500.Static or Multiplexe Driving: The driving method of the LEDsshould be static. You can test this with a digital camera, just watch thevideowall and see if there is a flicker in the picture ofthe camera. The same will happen if a TV camera films the videoscreenand it is broadcasted on TV.Outdoor: The LEDs are completely sealed with a special silicone;horizontal louvers are integrated in the LEDmodules to maximize the contrast.1 Color: The display features only one color (e. g. red). Thiscolor can have different shades to create a better picture(e. g. 256 shades, like a black and white picture). Most of these displays are also able to show animationfiles.2(3) Color: The display consists of LEDs with two differentcolors in each pixel (red and green). This two colorscan be mixed so we can have more than 4000 colors. But all colors are in red, green and yellow tones.Video Wall: The display offers LEDs with three different colorsin each pixel (RGB – red, green, blue). These colorscan be mixed so it has the complete true color spectrum(68 million colors). Such a board has a video inputand it is able to show a TV picture. There are alsoscoreboards available with 10 bit color processingwhich will result in 1073 million colors.www.alge-timing.com
