To browse in good condition during thecold winter, it is absolutely necessary appropriate technology culture whichpromotes a proper maturation of tissues and organs of the vine. Vine frostresistance is different depending on the variety, degree of maturation oftissues, the repose phase occurs, how are installed the frost, etc. Resistanceof different organs of the vine is also different, so the buds frost resistance isinfluenced by culture technology, production levels, climatic conditions of thecurrent year, but also the genotype. In recent years, oscillating climaticconditions have been influencing both the quality and quantity of productionas well as mode of vines wintering. In thisarea exists an abundance of local varieties and biotypes, which are lessknown. Some of these varieties have valuables agrobiological andtechnological features both for growers and consumers, but also for breeders:high production, high quality, drought resistance, frost resistance, tolerance tosome diseases and pests.
