Practical information/ procedures
for incoming students
Students wishing to start the studies at the I. J. Paderewski
Academy of Music in Poznan are required to file the proper application
forms, in cooperation with the ECTS coordinator at a home
institution, one term in advance. Besides, they should be at least
the second-year students, have a valid passport, awarded scholarship
and their own medical certificate/card with the insurance
obtained in their home country.
Foreign students may apply for the voluntary health insurance
(in accordance with the changes in the bill on the general health
insurance, the Journal of Laws 88 position 961 of the 27 th of
August 2001). It means that they have to pay the insurance rate
for their own insurance. A month rate is 33,44 zl. To enroll a
foreigner in the Polish National Health Fund, it is necessary to fill
in the proper forms. In order to sign an agreement a foreigner
should report (with a passport with a valid visa or a residence
permit and a certificate from the educational institution confirming
the participation in the course) to the National Health Fund in
Poznan in Piekary Street 14/15 room 901.
Learning the Polish language
Foreign students may participate in the Polish language classes
run by the Institute of the Polish Philology at the A. Mickiewicz
University. The courses organised within the Socrates/ Erasmus
programme are free.
Apart from that, the Institute offers paid courses:
■ Summer School of the Polish Language and Culture (3 weeks)
– 450 Euro
■ Winter School of the Polish Language (2 weeks) – 350 Euro.

city centre, and also some places in the Students’ Dormitory of
the Academy of Physical Education:

Food
The cost of living in Poznan is average. It should be enough to
pay PLN 30 (8 Euro) a day for food. We have a canteen on the
premises of the Academy.

Facilities
In the building of the Academy students may use:

■ recording studio, open Monday 9.30 a.m. – 3.00 p.m., Tuesday
– Friday 8.00 a.m. – 10.00 a.m., 1.00 p.m. – 4.00 p.m.
The physical education classes offer:
■ swimming, the swimming pool at ul. Wroniecka

The Academy also offers additional sports activities (partially
paid) in the Academic Sports Clubs; there are, for example: table
tennis section, football section, horse riding section.
