VOCAL PERFORMANCE

5-YEAR) GRADUATE STUDIES
The Faculty of Vocal Performance and Acting
offers the programme which prepares students
for the solo performances in music theatres.
During the solo singing classes, they learn and
perform the works of the opera, oratory and
cantata, and song repertoire.
In addition to the music courses, they participate
in courses dealing with acting and
stage movement, which after the third year
finish with a theatre performance exam.
Every year students prepare and present two
opera performances, which are shown to public
also outside the Academy, and which are
met with great interest and critical appraisal.
The students are obliged to attend a twoyear
course at the Pedagogical Study Centre,
the completion of which enables them to start
a teaching career. There is also a course of
“Marketing and cultural animation”, which
gives the graduates the skills of management
and promotion of culture (music).
The practical part of the master exam consists
of two recitals. In the first part, the student
must perform a series of songs or selection
of songs of one composer, and the arias
from the Baroque ones to the early Mozart’s.
The other recital consists of the presentation
of the stylistically various arias and song from
Mozart to modern times. The theoretical part
consists in writing a paper connected with the
specialization.
Students earn the Master of Art degree in
vocal performance and acting.
Faculty structure
VOCAL CHAIR
It coordinates all substantial affairs of the
Faculty. It organizes national master courses of
the oratory and cantata music interpretations,
and opera music interpretations in the aspect
of performance practice. It is a co-organizer
(substantial supervision of the K. Kurpinski
Competition in Wloszakowice).
The Faculty staff are also interested in the
vocal pedagogy and they organize student opera
performances.
Teaching facilities
The Faculty owns six classrooms, and the theatre
room for the acting and movement classes.
Concerts and student performances take
place in the Chamber Room and the Academy
Hall.
