■ takes care of students preparing for musical
chamber competitions.
DEPARTMENT OF PERCUSSION
It concentrates mainly on:
■ supervising proper and effective teaching process
■ encouraging artistic activities of students at
the Academy, in the region and abroad
■ organising workshops and master courses
■ cooperation with other academic centres.
DEPARTAMENT OF ARTISTIC VIOLIN-
MAKING
Among its aims are:
■ supervising proper teaching process
■ encouraging research in acoustics of instruments,
history of violin-making, issues of con-
struction and varnishing of instruments and
restoration problems
■ taking care of proper teaching and material
equipment at the violin-making workshops of
the Academy
■ organizing W. Kaminski National Violin-Making
Competitions
■ participating in substantial preparation of
H. Wieniawski International Violin-Making Competitions
in Poznan
■ cooperating in organization of national and
international violin-making seminars.
Teaching facilities
The Faculty has 50 classrooms, including:
one chamber room (studio) equipped with
sound recording and listening equipment,
three violin-making workshops and laboratory
for vibrations and sound analysis. It can also
use the Concert Hall and the Chamber Room
of the Academy.
