M.A. thesis is two-partite. It consists of an artistic
part (preparing and performing two recitals)
and a diploma written work connected with
the major of studies.
Students earn the Master of Art degree in a given
instrument.
ARTISTIC VIOLIN-MAKING
5-YEAR GRADUATE STUDIES
The programme is designed to help students
achieve artistic competence entitiling them to
the position of an artistic violin-maker, an instrument
restorer, and a teacher in music schools
with the violin-making specialization.

and a diploma written work connected
with the study specialization.
Students earn the Master of Art degree in artistic
violin-making.
INSTRUMENTAL PEDAGOGY
5-YEAR GRADUATE STUDIES
The programme is designed to prepare highly
trained teachers of instrument playing for
music schools of I and II degree, amateur music
centers and amateur music institutions.

pedagogy of a given instrument.
Faculty structure
PIANO CHAIR
It concentrates on:
■ artistic activities, and teaching and educational
activities, connected with the training process
in specializations of piano, harpsichord
and organ
■ encouraging artistic activities of teachers and
students at the Academy, in the region, in Poland
and abroad
■ substantial supervision of students preparing
for national and international competitions
■ organising master courses led by distinguished
artists and teachers
■ care of proper development of the researchteaching
staff
■ cooperation with other academic centres.
STRING INSTRUMENTS CHAIR
It concentrates mainly on:
■ care of proper and effective training in the
following specializations: violin, viola, cello,
double bass, guitar and harp
■ encouraging students’ artistic activities at the
Academy and supervision of students preparing
for national and international music competitions
■ undertaking research works connected with
the programming of educational process at
music schools of I and II degree, through the
participation of research and teaching staff in
various consultations, workshops, and master
courses
■ pursuing research connected with curricula at
music academies, and preparing programmes
for music competitions
■ organisation of music competitions in string
specializations: Z. Jahnke National Violin Competition,
J. Raczewski National Viola Competition,
and A. B. Ciechanski National Double
Bass Competion
■ organisation of annual master courses led by
distinguished Polish and foreign artists
■ supervising the development of young research
and teaching staff
■ cooperation with other academic centres in
Poland and abroad.
CHAIR OF WIND INSTRUMENTS
AND ACCORDION
The Chair fulfills its aims through:
■ improvement of training process within its
specializations
■ encouraging artistic activities of teachers and
students at the Academy and outside
■ organizing lectures, workshops and master
courses led by outstanding artists and teachers
■ substantial supervision of wind instruments
competitions at the regional level
■ organization of the National Clarinet Competition
in Wloszakowice
■ substantial supervision over the development
of research and teaching staff
■ cooperation with other academic centers in
Poland and abroad.
CHAMBER MUSIC CHAIR
■ exercises substantial and organizational supervision
connected with the realization of
the teaching process in leading chamber ensembles
■ encourages artistic activities of students and
teachers in chamber music at the Academy
and outside
