5-YEAR GRADUATE STUDIES<br />

<strong>The</strong> programme is designed to help students<br />

achieve artistic competence entitil<strong>in</strong>g them to<br />

the position <strong>of</strong> an artistic viol<strong>in</strong>-maker, an <strong>in</strong>strument<br />

restorer, and a teacher <strong>in</strong> music schools<br />

with the viol<strong>in</strong>-mak<strong>in</strong>g specialization.<br />

<strong>in</strong> specializations <strong>of</strong> piano, harpsichord<br />

and organ<br />

■ encourag<strong>in</strong>g artistic activities <strong>of</strong> teachers and<br />

students at the <strong>Academy</strong>, <strong>in</strong> the region, <strong>in</strong> Poland<br />

and abroad<br />

■ substantial supervision <strong>of</strong> students prepar<strong>in</strong>g<br />

for national and <strong>in</strong>ternational competitions<br />

■ organis<strong>in</strong>g master courses led by dist<strong>in</strong>guished<br />

artists and teachers<br />

■ care <strong>of</strong> proper development <strong>of</strong> the researchteach<strong>in</strong>g<br />

staff<br />

■ cooperation with other academic centres.<br />

STRING INSTRUMENTS CHAIR<br />

It concentrates ma<strong>in</strong>ly on:<br />

■ care <strong>of</strong> proper and effective tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> the<br />

follow<strong>in</strong>g specializations: viol<strong>in</strong>, viola, cello,<br />

double bass, guitar and harp<br />

■ encourag<strong>in</strong>g students’ artistic activities at the<br />

<strong>Academy</strong> and supervision <strong>of</strong> students prepar<strong>in</strong>g<br />

for national and <strong>in</strong>ternational music competitions<br />

■ undertak<strong>in</strong>g research works connected with<br />

the programm<strong>in</strong>g <strong>of</strong> educational process at<br />

music schools <strong>of</strong> I and II degree, through the<br />

participation <strong>of</strong> research and teach<strong>in</strong>g staff <strong>in</strong><br />

various consultations, workshops, and master<br />

courses<br />

■ pursu<strong>in</strong>g research connected with curricula at<br />

music academies, and prepar<strong>in</strong>g programmes<br />

for music competitions<br />

■ organisation <strong>of</strong> music competitions <strong>in</strong> str<strong>in</strong>g<br />

specializations: Z. Jahnke National Viol<strong>in</strong> Competition,<br />

J. Raczewski National Viola Competition,<br />

and A. B. Ciechanski National Double<br />

Bass Competion<br />

■ organisation <strong>of</strong> annual master courses led by<br />

dist<strong>in</strong>guished Polish and foreign artists<br />

■ supervis<strong>in</strong>g the development <strong>of</strong> young research<br />

and teach<strong>in</strong>g staff<br />

■ cooperation with other academic centres <strong>in</strong><br />

Poland and abroad.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Chair fulfills its aims through:<br />

■ encourag<strong>in</strong>g artistic activities <strong>of</strong> teachers and<br />

students at the <strong>Academy</strong> and outside<br />

courses led by outstand<strong>in</strong>g artists and teachers<br />

■ substantial supervision <strong>of</strong> w<strong>in</strong>d <strong>in</strong>struments<br />

competitions at the regional level<br />

■ organization <strong>of</strong> the National Clar<strong>in</strong>et Competition<br />

<strong>in</strong> Wloszakowice<br />

■ substantial supervision over the development<br />

<strong>of</strong> research and teach<strong>in</strong>g staff<br />

■ cooperation with other academic centers <strong>in</strong><br />

Poland and abroad.<br />

CHAMBER MUSIC CHAIR<br />

■ exercises substantial and organizational supervision<br />

connected with the realization <strong>of</strong><br />

the teach<strong>in</strong>g process <strong>in</strong> lead<strong>in</strong>g chamber ensembles<br />

■ encourages artistic activities <strong>of</strong> students and<br />

teachers <strong>in</strong> chamber music at the <strong>Academy</strong><br />

and outside<br />
