Jaques-Dalcroze’s method – for the graduates of music academies; paid, 1-year extramural studies. COMPOSITION 5-YEAR GRADUATE STUDIES The programme is designed to facilitate throughout development of a young creator-composer by providing the opportunity of mastering reliable and extensive composition skills. The M.A. thesis consists of two parts: writing a larger composition for orchestra or a larger vocal and instrumental form, and a paper on composition technique. A graduate is awarded the degree of Master of Arts in composition. The Faculty has a right to confer doctoral degrees in composition. THEORY OF MUSIC 5-YEAR GRADUATE STUDIES The programme is designed to equip students with extensive knowledge and practical skills required for teaching position of theoretical subjects at the elementary and secondary music schools. Completion of the course prepares for individual research work in the field of music theory, as well as for the work of a music critic and a journalist, and an organizer of a musical life and activities. Within this specialization the Faculty offers the specialization of management of properties and institutions of culture. M.A. thesis should deal with music theory, composition technique, criticism, music writing or music history. A graduate is awarded a degree of Master of Arts in music theory. EURHYTHMICS 5-YEAR GRADUATE STUDIES The programme is designed to prepare students for the position of eurhythmics teachers at kindergartens, music schools of I and II degree, higher pedagogical education, ballet schools, artistic schools training actors and singers, and amateur organizations. Within the rhythmic therapy students are prepared for teaching eurhythmics classes in prevention, therapy and rehabilitation.
