Conferences, sessions, sem<strong>in</strong>ars and symposiums organized<br />

at the <strong>Academy</strong> cover a wide theme spectrum – from the musicological<br />

and theoretical music issues (e.g. Polish culture <strong>of</strong> the 20 th<br />

century, music culture <strong>of</strong> the 20 th century Poznan, <strong>Ignacy</strong> <strong>Jan</strong><br />

<strong>Paderewski</strong>, Gregorian chant – tradition and the present day),<br />

through the performance issues (e.g. elements <strong>of</strong> piano improvisation<br />

<strong>in</strong> the liturgy practice, vocal phrase expression from the<br />

Baroque to the present days) to the eurhythmic issues (e.g.<br />

therapeutic eurhythmics, music and movement as methods <strong>of</strong><br />

feel<strong>in</strong>g and emotion expression).<br />

<strong>The</strong> Publish<strong>in</strong>g House <strong>of</strong> the I. J. <strong>Paderewski</strong> <strong>Academy</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Music</strong><br />

which <strong>of</strong>fers books, music sheets and records, has <strong>in</strong>tensified<br />

its activities s<strong>in</strong>ce 1999.<br />

<strong>The</strong> publish<strong>in</strong>g <strong>of</strong>fer lists several books, <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g a publication<br />

<strong>Ignacy</strong> <strong>Jan</strong> <strong>Paderewski</strong>. An artist <strong>in</strong> the world <strong>of</strong> culture., two<br />

volumes devoted to viol<strong>in</strong>-mak<strong>in</strong>g Acoustic issues <strong>of</strong> the viol<strong>in</strong>-<br />

mak<strong>in</strong>g, publication dedicated to the <strong>Academy</strong> for its 80 th anniversary<br />

Hom<strong>in</strong>es, Ars et Scientia, a volume Raul Koczalski start<strong>in</strong>g<br />

the series <strong>of</strong> “Biographies”. Five books were published <strong>in</strong> the<br />

series <strong>of</strong> “<strong>Music</strong>a Practica-<strong>Music</strong>a <strong>The</strong>oretice”, <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g collective<br />

works: <strong>Music</strong>al work. Studies and monographs; Mickiewicz<br />

and music. Words-sound-contexts as well as Polish culture <strong>in</strong> the<br />

20 th century and On the drama <strong>of</strong> absurd marked with schizophrenia<br />

by Monika Jazownik, Rhetoric concept <strong>of</strong> Bach’s St.<br />

Matthew Passion by Anna Kisiel. Among the <strong>in</strong>terest<strong>in</strong>g proposals<br />

are the <strong>in</strong>terdiscipl<strong>in</strong>ary works, for example: Dictionary <strong>of</strong><br />

musical myths by Andrzej M. Kemp<strong>in</strong>ski, Analogy and music.<br />

From the philosophical issues <strong>of</strong> music by Hanna Kostrzewska,<br />

Michal Sobeski. Aesthetic views by Z<strong>of</strong>ia Wojciechowska. N<strong>in</strong>e<br />

music sheet publications <strong>of</strong> works <strong>of</strong> <strong>Jan</strong> Astriab, Miroslaw Bukowski,<br />

Fryderyk Chop<strong>in</strong> and Florian Dabrowski were published,<br />

as well as scales and passages for double bass by Piotr Czerw<strong>in</strong>ski.<br />

Besides, n<strong>in</strong>e CDs were recorded – they conta<strong>in</strong> the<br />

works <strong>of</strong> <strong>Jan</strong> Astriab, Wojciech Kilar, Zbigniew Kozub and<br />

Stanislaw Moniuszko with the choir and orchestra groups <strong>of</strong> the<br />

Poznan <strong>Academy</strong>.<br />
