Adamson attests, in a 33-paragraph affidavit (Ex. 10), to hisknowledge of <strong>Iran</strong>‘s unprecedented campaign to prevent INTERPOL Red Notices (see pp.61-62, infra) from being issued naming three high-ranking <strong>Iran</strong>ian government officials,which would have implicated <strong>Iran</strong> as a nation-state in the terrorist bombings of the AMIAJewish cultural center in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1994.i. Kenneth R. Timmerman. Investigative journalist, author, and noted <strong>Iran</strong>expert Kenneth Timmerman provides an expert affidavit (his ―Second Affidavit‖) inaddition to a fact affidavit (―First Affidavit‖ which is sealed) described infra. See n.11, p.13, infra. Timmerman‘s second affidavit (Ex. 2, redacted; Ex. S-11, unredacted),comprising 219 paragraphs, lays out his expert analysis of the early connections betweenAyatollah Khomeini and Yasser Arafat, <strong>Iran</strong>‘s creation of Hizballah in Lebanon, theemergence of Imad Mughniyah and his long terrorist history, connections between <strong>Iran</strong>,Hizballah, al Qaeda, and the Taliban, <strong>Iran</strong> as a travel facilitator for terrorists, and otherdetails from the Havlish investigation. Timmerman reveals information he received froma 9/11 Commission staff member identifying by name the ―senior operative ofHezbollah‖ who, as well as the operative‘s associate, accompanied some of the 9/11muscle hijackers on air flights into and out of <strong>Iran</strong> and Beirut, Lebanon in the fall of2000. That ―senior Hezbollah operative,‖ referenced cryptically, though not identified byname, in pages 240-241 of the 9/11 REPORT, was the master terrorist Imad Mughniyah –a known agent of <strong>Iran</strong>. Mughniyah, too, was the ―senior operative of Hezbollah‖ who, inOctober 2000, ―visited Saudi Arabia to coordinate activities there . . . [and who] alsoplanned to assist individuals in Saudi Arabia in traveling to <strong>Iran</strong> during November.‖Timmerman also relates information he received from two additional <strong>Iran</strong>ian sources30
