Emphasis on therole of the teacher as an artist in the classroom, hands-on work, and experiential learning inspireand initiate the mood of each grade. Each week starts with an overview of the grade, highlightingblocks and skills to be developed, and includes strategies for planning, assessment, and recordkeeping. Participants build a picture based on a foundation of knowledge that includes theanthroposophical view of child development and curricular content specific to Waldorf schools,and apply these through the arts. The world of fractions leads the child from the whole to its partsand back to the whole again. The programinvites teachers in any school setting—Waldorf, charter, or private—to learn together.Enriched by a diversity of experiences,participants can develop the mutual supportand understanding that translate into apositive impact on American education.Each student will have a mentor who willprovide support over the training period, andwill observe the student in the classroom.Although this program is primarily for thosealready in the classroom, exceptions are madeby application review.
