The restructuring programme launched<br />
in 2010 is going according to plan and is<br />
already producing results. Since aligning<br />
its structure to cli<strong>en</strong>t <strong>group</strong>s, the Group is<br />
conc<strong>en</strong>trating on making its Retail<br />
Germany Division one of the most<br />
effici<strong>en</strong>t and cli<strong>en</strong>tfocused insurers in<br />
this market segm<strong>en</strong>t.<br />

Highly capable and effici<strong>en</strong>t c<strong>en</strong>tral functions<br />
<strong>en</strong>sure that the Group remains on<br />
course. Talanx AG’s duties are of a more<br />
strategic nature; it guides the basic positioning<br />
of the divisions to the ext<strong>en</strong>t necessary<br />
for achieving the overall strategy. Two<br />
c<strong>en</strong>tral service companies are dedicated to<br />
standardising and harmonising processes<br />
and tapping synergies. The Corporate<br />
Oper at ions segm<strong>en</strong>t also includes financial<br />
services, comprising mainly managem<strong>en</strong>t<br />
of Group-wide investm<strong>en</strong>ts and the investm<strong>en</strong>t<br />
fund operator AmpegaGerling, and<br />
also the Group’s own reinsurance broker.<br />
The Group’s successful developm<strong>en</strong>t to date<br />
proves that its history is a good basis on<br />
which to build further: today’s Talanx is a<br />
platform capable of sustaining a wide range<br />
of business-policy options for upward<br />
movem<strong>en</strong>t, in other words, target-focused<br />

As the next step, German retail business<br />
is being made fit for competition: business<br />
