The disclosures provided below complem<strong>en</strong>t the risk <strong>report</strong>ing in the managem<strong>en</strong>t <strong>report</strong> and<br />

reflect the requirem<strong>en</strong>ts of § 315 Para. 2 No. 2 HGB (German Commercial Code), German Accounting<br />

Standard DRS 5 in conjunction with DRS 5-20, IFRS 4 and IFRS 7. For fundam<strong>en</strong>tal qualitative<br />

statem<strong>en</strong>ts, e.g. regarding the organisation of our risk managem<strong>en</strong>t or the assessm<strong>en</strong>t of the risk<br />

situation, please see the Risk Report contained in the Managem<strong>en</strong>t Report.<br />

Classes of financial instrum<strong>en</strong>ts<br />

IFRS 7 “Financial Instrum<strong>en</strong>ts: Disclosures” sets out all the disclosures required for financial instrum<strong>en</strong>ts.<br />

Some disclosure duties are to be met by establishing classes of financial instrum<strong>en</strong>ts. The<br />

<strong>group</strong>ing made in this context must facilitate a minimum distinction betwe<strong>en</strong> financial instrum<strong>en</strong>ts<br />

measured at fair value and those measured at amortised cost. The classes need not necessarily<br />

be id<strong>en</strong>tical to the categorisation of financial instrum<strong>en</strong>ts pursuant to IAS 39.6 or IAS 39.45–46<br />

for the purpose of subsequ<strong>en</strong>t measurem<strong>en</strong>t. The classes established for our financial instrum<strong>en</strong>ts<br />

were guided by the needs of our portfolio and our balance sheet structure; the degree of detail of<br />

the stated classes may vary to the ext<strong>en</strong>t permitted according to the required disclosure.<br />

Ess<strong>en</strong>tially, the following classes of financial instrum<strong>en</strong>ts have be<strong>en</strong> established:<br />
