OPEN FRAMECRIMP TOOLS®DANIELSMANUFACTURINGCORPORATIONM22520/5-01 (HX4)M22520/10-01 (HX3)The DMC HX4 and HX3 seriescrimp tools feature a system of interchangeabledies which eliminate theneed of separate fixed die crimp toolsfor each and every different application. Many maintenance and manufacturingconcerns have standardizedon one of these models, thus eliminatingthe cost associated withmaintaining and calibrating bulkyinventories of single purpose tools.Tremendous flexibility and costadvantages exist with this crimpingsystem due to the wide variety ofinterchangeable dies which areavailable for these tool frames. Asnew requirements evolve, a new setof dies is all that’s required to meetthe demand. A truly modern conceptwhich will not require major changewith time…only simple additions.Crimping dies are snapped intothe tool frame and retained in placeby internal spring clips. They may bepermanently secured, if desired, bydriving a roll pin into the holes provided. The tool frames are equippedwith a positive ratchet assembly whichcontrols complete handle movement inboth directions.Hexagonal crimp dies are availablein a variety of combinations havingsingle, double, and even triple cavitydesign. These dies accommodate mostcoaxial and biaxial connectors andcontacts conforming to MIL-C-39012,MIL-C-39029, and numerous proprietaryconfigurations. Other designsare available for coaxial connectionsrequiring different termination techniques.Dies in various crimp patterns arealso available for insulated anduninsulated terminal lugs, wire splicesand end caps relating to M7928,MS17143, MS25036, MS25181,MS27429, MS25274, MS20659,M81824, MS21003 through MS21015,and commercial part numbers. Severalpower contacts too large for conventionalhand tools are also covered byinterchangeable dies for the standardtool frame (HX4).If your application requirementis not already covered by one of ourstandard dies our engineering departmentwill be pleased to discuss adesign to suit your needs. The HX4 is 11″ in length andweighs approximately 21 oz. The HX3is 9″ in length and weighs 11 oz.TYPICAL DIE SETPAGE 47© COPYRIGHT 2003 DANIELS MANUFACTURING CORPORATION
