From The Pastor...“Blessed Are You Among Women”This may be one of the most difficult weeks to be reflectivethroughout each day. This weekend may bequite full for many of us. I gently suspect that forthose who have not had any “Advent” so far, they areprobably tired of “Christmasing”. We do tend to cramso many things into the emptiness and longing ofAdvent: things like Christmas parties and staff,faculty, office dinners which can make the celebrationof His birth, and ours, not very uplifting. We havetime! There is still stillness to give us a sense ofwaiting, wanting, watching.Whether this week is full or slow, it is a treasurefilledopportunity for reflection. The readings todayspeak about God’s precious gift. From the smallestshall come forth the revelation of God’s greatness.This “one” shall bring unity of the flock and peacewithin and among all nations.The Gospel is an intimate encounter between twowomen of faith. Mary and her cousin Elizabeth havetrusted in the secrecy of pregnancy. They both aremoved to share their secrets.Mary has been greeted by an angel and trusts whatshe hears in her soul. Elizabeth hears Mary’sgreeting and trusts what she hears and feels withinher body.
