Company HousingSome companies make their staff dormitories availableto international students. Eligibility and other requirementsare as follows.◆ Company housing is available only for independentlyfinanced degree seeking students.◆ Most of the company housing is for single students.◆ Japanese language ability, familiarity with Japanesecustoms and lifestyle, and a willingness to minglewith company employees are prerequisites.◆ Application period: Mostly in January for movingin April, but the time of entry varies. Information isposted on the bulletin board of each school.◆ Place to Apply: International Student Exchange Divisionof Nagoya University (1st floor, ECIS)◆ The balance of applicants’ nationalities will be considered.◆ Applicants must join the International Student HousingGeneral Compensation Plan (Ryugakusei JutakuSogo Hosho).Ⅵ5 . 民 間 アパート一 般 に 不 動 産 業 者 を 仲 介 として 探 します。 契 約 時 に、 敷 金 ・礼 金 ・ 仲 介 手 数 料 ・ 前 家 賃 ・ 共 益 費 ・ 住 宅 保 険 料 等 を 支 払うため、 1 ヵ 月 の 家 賃 の 約 6 ~ 7 倍 のお 金 が 必 要 です。 家賃 は 単 身 用 で 1 ヵ 月 約 35,000~60,000 円 です。 契 約 時 に 必要 な 連 帯 保 証 人 は 名 古 屋 大 学 留 学 生 後 援 会 が「 機 関 保 証 」します。また、 私 費 外 国 人 留 学 生 を 対 象 に 敷 金 の 貸 付 制 度もありますのでご 利 用 ください。5. Private ApartmentsPrivate accommodation is usually found through an estateagent. A deposit, key money (non-refundable gratuitymoney), commission, one month’s advance rent, fireand housing insurance, common service charge etc,must be paid at the outset. Altogether 6 or 7 times thevalue of one month’s rent will be necessary. In Nagoya,the average rent will range from 35,000 yen to 60,000yen per month for a single room. Usually a guarantor isrequired, and students may ask the Nagoya UniversityInternational Student Support Association to act as one.Further, if you are an independently financed student,you can apply for an Overseas Students Housing DepositLoan at the International Student Center of Nagoyacity.■「 名 古 屋 大 学 留 学 生 後 援 会 賃 貸 住 宅 連 帯 保 証 事 業 」留 学 生 が 宿 舎 の 賃 貸 契 約 を 結 ぶ 際 、 留 学 生 が 財 団 法 人 日本 国 際 教 育 支 援 協 会 の「 留 学 生 住 宅 総 合 補 償 」 制 度 に 加 入することを 条 件 に、 名 古 屋 大 学 留 学 生 後 援 会 が 一 定 の 範 囲内 で 連 帯 保 証 人 になります。「 留 学 生 住 宅 総 合 補 償 」の 保険 期 間 は 1 年 または 2 年 です。 賃 貸 契 約 期 間 中 に 保 険 期 間が 切 れることがないように、「 留 学 生 住 宅 総 合 補 償 」の 更新 手 続 きを 行 なってください。 詳 細 は、 国 際 学 生 交 流 課 に問 い 合 わせてください。■ Joint Surety Service for Residential Leasesof the Nagoya University International StudentSupport AssociationThe Nagoya University International Student SupportAssociation offers a Joint Surety Service for ResidentialLeases to international students enrolled in Nagoya Universityon the condition that students join the InternationalStudent Housing General Compensation Plan(Ryugakusei jutaku sogo Hosho) of the Japan Educa-― 31 ―
