RBC Run for the Kids celebrates its second year
The RBC Run for the Kids celebrated
its second year, raising $1.9 million for
Sunnybrook’s Family Navigation Project.
The proceeds helped young people
affected by mental illness and addictions
– and their families – to get the help they
so urgently need. The run drew more than
7,100 participants, making it the fourth
largest running event in Toronto.
Landmark donation for brain sciences
A $20-million donation, earmarked for the
Hurvitz Brain Sciences Centre, will allow
Sunnybrook to link experts in each field
of brain sciences in an effort to accelerate
research and slow the progress of brain
disorders. Along with the naming of the
Centre, Sunnybrook’s brain sciences
program was renamed the Hurvitz Brain
Sciences Program. The Centre will
combine a renovation of Sunnybrook’s
existing F-wing with a new building of
the same size alongside it.
