Memberspresent were: Mike Teigland, Indianola; Susan Stogdill, Malvern; Todd Lettow, Hampton; Mark Lehmann,Waverly; Brian Ney, Cresco; and Leon Kuehner, Hampton. Also in attendance was Alan Greiner, ExecutiveDirector, who served as the recording secretary. President Kuehner chaired the meeting.MMS (Teigland/Ney) to approve the minutes of the April 22, 2009 meeting as printed and distributed.PASSEDMMS (Lehmann/Stodgill) to approve the financial bills as submitted. PASSEDDirector Greiner presented the Year End Summary, highlighting each of the festivals of 2008-2009 and presentedan overview of the financial position of the Association with long range goals in mind.The director presented a detailed budget proposal for the 2009-2010 fiscal year that featured registrationamounts, secretarial-custodial allowances, gate charges, awards and memorabilia prices. Increases in amountswere denoted in bold print.MMS(Lehmann/Lettow) to approve the budget as amended. The directorinformed the board of the work done by the IBA Concert Band Affairs Committee on the All-State AuditionCards. This item has been tabled for future discussion.ASSOCIATION CONCERNS: The director solicited input for website development. The director providedan update on the work of the K-16 Music Curriculum Summit. MMS (Ney/Stogdill) to approve the followingmeeting dates for the 2009-2010 school year: October 22, 2009 (Executive Committee and DAG); January 21,2010 (Executive Committee); April 22, 2010 (Executive Committee and DAG); and July (TBD), 2010 (ExecutiveCommittee). The joint meeting between the IHSMA Executive Committee and IMEA Executive Boardwill be April 21, 2010. PASSED The 2009 National Federation Summer Meeting will be held in San Diego –dates to be determined. MMS (Stogdill/Teigland) to provide a donation of $150 to IPTV. PASSED The directorinformed the committee that the annual financial audit will take place in August. The director informed thecommittee that the Farm Bureau Outstanding Performers Recitial will be held at the Iowa State Fair on Saturday,August 22, 2009 – President Kuehner will be on hand to coordinate the recital.
