REHEARSALSAll groups will meet Friday morning at the following locations:Band ......................................................................................................................... StephensRehearsals are also held Friday afternoon and evening and Saturday morning and afternoon. <strong>The</strong> specific rehearsalschedule for each of the All-State ensembles will be mailed to auditioning schools prior to auditions. Check this verycarefully. Attendance will be carefully checked at each rehearsal. Failure to attend all rehearsals will eliminate studentsfrom participation. Rehearsal schedules are interpreted as the actual starting time. Students should be in placeat the designated time. Any All-State Chorus student who is late to rehearsal will check-in with the All-State ChorusChair. He/she will not rejoin the chorus but will sit with their director at the back of the chorus for the remainder of thatrehearsal block of time. <strong>The</strong>y may rejoin the chorus for the next rehearsal. A second incident of tardiness will result inautomatic dismissal from the festival. Attendance policies for the band and orchestra will be included in the folders ofstudents accepted. <strong>No</strong> caps or hats are permitted at any rehearsal.TICKETS<strong>The</strong> ticket price will be $15. All seats are reserved. A group rate of $13 per ticket will be available on orders of 20 ormore tickets ordered by a single purchaser. All orders received prior to October 26 will be held and processed on thatdate beginning at 10:00 AM. Online ticket sales will also begin October 26, <strong>2009</strong> at 10:00 AM.ILLNESS<strong>The</strong> All-State Chair must be notified if illness should prevent participation in the All-State groups. Band members, or theirdirector, should telephone C. David Rutt, Forest City <strong>High</strong> <strong>School</strong> at 641-585-2324; Orchestra members, or their director,should telephone Ted Hallberg, LeMars <strong>High</strong> <strong>School</strong> at 712-546-4153. Chorus members, or their director, should telephoneMary Citta, Cedar <strong>Fall</strong>s at 319-277-6069.CONCERT DRESSBand members will wear their uniforms. Orchestra women will wear long dresses and men will wear suits (formal black).Chorus members must wear choir robes.MISCELLANEOUS ARRANGEMENTS1. Complimentary Tickets: Complimentary tickets for directors of participating students will be issued on the followingbasis: One ticket will be issued for each department represented in the All-State Festival ensembles; i.e., vocal = 1ticket; orchestra = 1 ticket; band = 1 ticket. If a string player is accepted from a school without an orchestra program,a complimentary ticket will be awarded to the band program ONLY if that program had no players chosen for band.<strong>No</strong> director is entitled to more than a single complimentary ticket, or any district more than a total of three. Call theAssociation office if you have questions. All seats are reserved. <strong>School</strong>s are responsible for securing tickets fordrivers, chaperones, spouses of directors and student teachers.2. Check your calendar carefully. Do not enter students who may have a conflict with any activity. Each student mustbe available for all rehearsals in Ames.3.
