FLIGHTS PUB; EVERETT, WANovice Cup goes head to headBy Joseph MathiasOn Saturday, October 16, FlightsPub in Everett would become a battlegroundbetween two classic rivals. Thegirls from Flights; Mary Richeson,Erin Arganti, Ann Counterman, andCaron Aitken defended their NoviceCup against Jimmy Jack’s best; TamiPayne, KristineCrawfo r d , P a mBrammer, andJoanna Ortman. It wasan all-femaleaffair, and aftereverybodygot warmedup and gottheir drinksin front ofthem, it wasgame on!J i m m yJacks startedoff strongwhen Pam hit a Low Ton in the gamesetting up Joanna for the out. In gametwo, it was Erin’s Low Ton that setup Caron for the out and tie up thematch at one game each. And with all the thanksin the world to her - Willy and I arethe best of friends.I greatly admire her sense ofhumor, wit, outspokeness, confidenceand kindness. Once she decided youwere in her life there was no goingback - no holds barred, jumping inwith both feet, with reckless abandon.I hope I am able to open my heart likeshe did - even to half of the extent. Shecounseled me, watched me fall andwas always there to pick me back up.I will love and remember her always. In the words of Willy Walker, "As bisas her voice was, it was small in comparisonto the size of her heart."of 4-Counts, but Ann would answerback with her own 5-Count to win thegame, 3-2 Flights.Despite Jimmy Jack’s strongshooting over the next six games, itjust didn’t seem to be enough as Flightswent on to extend their lead 9-2.Although Jimmy Jacks wasn’td o n e y e t .P a m ’s H a tTrick to wingame 12 offereds omehope. Amazingonly begins to describe the personshe was to me. She was my go to, andknew every detail of my life betterthan I know myself. She knew whento be my friend and when I needed"couch time". I could always rely onher to keep it real, even when it wasn'twhat I wanted to hear. She loved me.The memories are endless. Weshared so many great times together.I am thankful for every moment. Thesimplest things turned into some ofthe best memories. Like one of manysleepovers we had... we slept in my bedin our matching frog nightgowns. Welaughed so hard that night. My time with her was cut short. We had a list a mile long of things wewanted to do. Wish she could havestayed longer.Never goodbye, I will see yawhen I get there. I love her just theway she was.Craig “Clean” Freeman:Janis was my 1st female friend inWashington 13 years ago. Her humor was so intoxicatingthat you had to laugh, if you didn't,then you were her next target.Janis also had a soft and generousside that not everyone saw. Shecared and loved her friends almostas much as she loved her sons, Randyand Kyle.If you ever needed anything, shewould help you out, if she couldn'tthen she knew someone that could.Janis was a social butterfly. She hatedDRAMA, but it always found her, eitheras a participant or a referee. In the last year, Janis mellowedout just a little, thanks to Jimmy. Hegave Janis something nobody couldand that was true love.We have thousands of memoriesand stories of Janis and everyone ofB Flight (2nd Place); Terry and Dukethem is precious. We will always havethat part of her in our hearts andminds. I loved Janis as if she weremy sister. I will miss her smartasscomments, our phone calls just to say"Hi", and our talks at home. Thanks to God for allowing usinto her life. She affected more peoplethan she knew, and even more as anorgan donator after her death.Janis made this world a betterplace with her charm and laughter.R.I.P. my friend, I love you.Jimmy Montgomery:It was quite interesting the nightI was reintroduced to Janis. I forgotwhat it was like playing a matchagainst her and she was being hertypical flirty self. By the end of thenight she had already invited herselfto stay in my trailer for a weekend ofcamping. As time went on, we would becomea couple and go out in publictogether. There were times whensome would ask, “What is wrong withJanis,” and I would say, ”What do youmean?” They would reply, “She’s awfullyquiet.” I would respond, “Well, she’s in a new training program, I’mtaming her.” She of course, would respondby saying, “That isn’t true, hejust thinks he is.”Janis was becoming content withlife and the thought of settling downwas becoming more appealing all thetime. She’ll always be remembered forthe way she made you laugh and hercaring nature towards others when itcame down to their needs verses herown. We all love and miss her.
