Detroit Street May 18, 2012<strong>Xenia</strong>, OH 45385(937) 376-7221www.ci.xenia.oh.us<strong>Annual</strong> <strong>Police</strong> <strong>Awards</strong> <strong>Ceremony</strong><strong>Xenia</strong>, Ohio, May 18, 2012: The <strong>Xenia</strong> <strong>Police</strong> Division’s 21st <strong>Annual</strong> <strong>Awards</strong> <strong>Ceremony</strong> washeld on Thursday evening, May 17, 2012, at the Greene County F.O.P. Lodge. Among thosehonored and receiving the division’s highest honor is five-yearveteran Officer David A. Wilson who received the Casey ElliottMemorial “<strong>City</strong>’s Finest” Award. This award is given each year inrecognition for either an outstanding accomplishment in policework, bravery in the line <strong>of</strong> duty, or a humanitarian deed.Leadership <strong>Awards</strong> were presented to Officer Gerald Merriman fordisplaying continued leadership within the organization throughoutthe year. Meritorious Service <strong>Awards</strong> were presented to CaptainScott Anger, Officer Harold Matheson, Officer Jeff Moore, OfficerRobert Stouffer, and Officer Anthony Vitale for acts that resulted inthe attempt to save a life and were above and beyond the call <strong>of</strong>duty.Officer David WilsonThe Communications Operator <strong>of</strong> the Year Award was presented to Kimberly Parker for herdedication and support <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Xenia</strong>/Greene Communications Center.Community Policing <strong>Awards</strong> went to Officer Dean Margioras and Officer Harold Matheson forestablishing and maintaining closer ties between police, the schools and the members <strong>of</strong> thecommunity. The Silver Shield Commendation was presented to Officer Jacalyn Masur for thehighest level <strong>of</strong> overall patrol operations within the patrol section.The Outstanding Support Service Award was presented to Sherri DeWine, Records Secretary, forher pr<strong>of</strong>essionalism, self-initiative and work ethic throughout the year.The command staff issues a fitness challenge each year to the <strong>of</strong>ficers, and in 2011/2012 thechallenge was met by 21 members <strong>of</strong> the police force. These <strong>of</strong>ficers were recognized during theceremony.


A total <strong>of</strong> 72 commendations were presented to the following Officers and CommunicationsOperators: Captain Scott Anger, Sergeant B. Todd LeMaster, Sergeant Steve Lane, Sergeant PeteWiza, Sergeant Alonzo Wilson, Sergeant Chris Stutes, Sergeant Kathee Forrest, Detective DarrinBarlow, Detective Holly Clay, Detective Fred Meadows, Detective Jeff Osburn, DetectiveStephen Shaw, Officer Fred Barker, Officer Tim Roop, Officer Dean Margioras, Officer RobertKelley, Officer Marc Margioras, Officer Ellyn Board, Officer Harold Matheson, Officer PatWalsh, Officer Scott Beegle, Officer Lon Etchison, Officer Robert Stouffer, Officer PhilipPierson, Officer Matt Miller, Officer Rebecca Greene, Officer Matt Cvitkovich, Officer DougSparks, Officer Anthony Vitale, Officer David Wilson, Officer Terry Zoerb, Officer BrianBlackaby, Officer Jeff Moore, Officer Jacalyn Masur, Communications Operator HeatherBarlow, Communications Operator Kimberly Creswell, Communications Operator Susan Shank,Communications Operator Jessica Gibbs, Communications Operator Heather Pitstick andCommunications Operator Kimberly Parker.Appreciation certificates were given to Volunteers Bob Craig, Mary Plsek, Sue Grooms andDavid Davis. A retirement presentation was made to James Osburn, Parking Enforcement.Community Service <strong>Awards</strong> were presented to citizens Craig Cross and Anthony Roberts, LossPrevention workers, WalMart Stores.Thanks to all who attended and a special thank you to F.O.P.
