.
2012. Assessment will include evaluation of current tree health and structural
stability.
This report is an independent assessment of the trees within the site and the
Recommendations
1. The tree is observed to be overall healthy.
2. It is observed that there is old pruning wound decay with a cavity on the trunk that
has a Ficus plant growing from it.
Photograph 1 shows the Ficus plant growing from the cavity on the trunk.
4. It is observed that there are two big girdling roots and one small girdling root
strangling the tree at the tree base. The girdling roots if not remove will eventually kill
the tree or cause the tree to uproot.
Photograph 3a, 3b and 3c shows the girdling roots strangling the tree at the tree
base.
5. The girdling roots are of 0.25m, 0.2m and 0.05m in diameter respectively. The
cutting of these girdling roots may cause the tree to uproot or it may introduce decay
into the root system and result in the tree death or uprooting in future.
6. Due to the close proximity of the tree to the building, it is recommended that the
tree be removed.
