Thisprocess, calledmacroevolution, has neverbeen observed and should beconsidered atheory.Evolutionalso refers to the unprovenbelief that random, undirectedforces produced aworld ofliving things.There are many unansweredquestions about the origin oflife which are not mentionedin your textbook, including:—Why did the major groupsof animals suddenly appear inthe fossil record (known as the“Cambrian Explosion”)?—Why have no new majorgroups of living thingsappeared in the fossil recordfor along time?—Why do major groups ofplants and animals have notransitional forms in the fossilrecord?—How did you and all livingthings come to possess such acomplete and complex set of“Instructions” for building aliving body?Study hard and keep an openmind.
